Discover Rennes ? New to the city

Hello, I just arrived to Rennes and i don't know anyone here. I would love to meet new people and to visit the city. Everyone told me the city is cool but i don't know the cool places here :(. Can't wait to meet yah !

There are a lot of cool bars here, depending on what you like.

The famous "Rue de la Soif" is worth to spend some time in, but after several years living here, I'm pretty tired of it. I still go sometimes to L'Aeternam (electronic music played loud), Le Barantic (lots of good beers), or Le Carnaby though.

If you want a taste of Brittany, try Ty Anna or La cité d'Ys.

If you want a rock'n'roll place : Oan's Pub, Gazoline, Bistrot de la Cité, Melody Maker, Papier Timbré, Marquis de Sade, Synthi.

Less rock'n'roll but also great : Le Retroviseur & L'Amaryllis.

The Mail François Mitterrand seems like the new "place to be". Les Gamins Terribles & La Piste are always crowded.

Some other great bars but more or less far from downtown : L'Aviation, La Mie Mobile, Le Panama, Babazula, Mondo bizarro, Cartel Loco, La Bascule.

2 great places for artists & alternative people : L'Elaboratoire & Les Ateliers du Vent. There are more :)

I'm a big fan of experimental or extreme music. If you are brave enough, look for events in Le Terminus.

After 1am, if you want sweat, sound & beer : Bar Hic. If you want a cleaner or calmer place, ask someone else :)
