Need advice - where to go, what to see and where to eat/drink in Valenciennes =)

Hey everyone! My name is Alex. My friends and I are going to make a bicycle trip from Paris to Amsterdam. We will pass Valenciennes and it would be cool if someone could give us some useful info about their favorite places to go here - some places in the city or near it in nature with nice view, local events, small (or not so small but really cool) bars, your favorite places to eat. Any advice is really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi there is right now a very interesting exhibition in Valenciennes beaux arts museum where there have brought 100 objects of the british museum of London to show human history. It worth to go there have fun!

Hello Alex, For Bar you should go to the Palais de la Bière "27 Place du Hainaut, 59300 Valenciennes" you'll found a lot of young people there and if the weather is nice you can enjoy a very nice terrasse ; not so far away the beerSpot (25 different draft beer only 5€ the pint) - definetely something cool !

As thomas said, you'll find some great local food at "Chez mon vieux" ; And if you want to have some great meat and wine the place is the "Beau Vin" 70-, 72 Rue de Paris, 59300 Valenciennes I absolutely love this place, it's not so expensive, the food is very good and homemade and the owners are very nice

If you want a place in the city but also in nature "L'étang du vignoble" is very nice !
