Rich in green surfaces, intellectual hubs, old café houses and scientific research centers. The city's visible architecture is mostly 18-19-20. century, but in little side streets, apart from Victorian style (Viennese touch) avenues and circuits you can easily find medieval structures, but the origins of town dates back to Roman times: Vindobona was in fact a Roman outpost along the Empire's border (the so called Limes), which was stretching from the north-western tips of Germania till the Black Sea almost. Wien is a diverse, multicultural and modern city always adapting new technologies. There are even plans for the future to cool the city in an eco-friendly fashion with water reservoirs underneath, parallel also dismantling much of the concrete based condo-architecture, which is storing too much heat! The subway system is easy to explore. Trams and buses are everywhere. Pedestrian areas provide a nice feel. ON THE MENU: - We will go to galleries and comic book stores. - Try local food in traditional venues...
