On weekends I usually do some activities like hiking, climbing, camping or going to SPA so if you would like to experience such things feel free to join. Dear travelers, I am getting many requests so if I reject you, please do not get offended. When I have a time and capacity, I will do my best to host you and make your stay as pleasant and safe as possible. And please use this app purposefully. The main criteria that I care about is safety. So if your profile looks suspicious that would also could be a reason for rejection. Update regarding app redesign: I hate it. It is completely inconvenient and I cannot even put a message when declining the requests. Seems like I would stip using it soon :( Update as of 2026/08: I started to get way too many requests so unfortunately now I am not able to respond to everyone. Hopefully you will spend your time with joy and fun here in Almaty! To surfers that request on short notice: pls put some effort to explain why do you need a stay. It is disrespectful to just specify dates and time.
When I first joined Couchsurfing, my mission was to see every country in the world. I guess there is still part of me that would love to do that, or at least meet someone from every country so I can learn about their lives and their society. I love being in new places, love discovering how geography shapes a place and how we are similar or different across the wod. I had my first couchsurfing experience in San Francisco in 2016 And for the next 8 years or so I used to platform to surf whenever I visited new places alone. I moved to Malaysian Borneo to work in 2022-2025 and loved hosting people there, finally seeing how it is on the other side! Now I am living in Kazakhstan for a year and would love to host you to share what I know about the city of Almaty.
