I have always travelled and before Covid I hosted CS. Since then my world was turned upside-down with illness and I have hardly left home! At last, I am well enough to think about travelling again and have the energy to be a host. I was a healthcare professional and fill my time at home now selling Fairtrade goods on stall.
Laid-back and eternally optimistic nature lover, fire dancer and ukelele songstress seeking an alternative to the 9-5 and off to see the world before we all sink into the sea. I'm always up for trying new things. What is life but a set of experiences? I want to collect them all! I'm using Workaway to volunteer and learn about different methods of eco-building and living off-grid across the world, but between working I'm seeking sunshine, mountains, beaches, dancing, adventure and like-minded people :) Lets have adventures together!
ABOUT ME I'm a gay man who 'came out' later in life, I have four children, all grown up now! I have a wonderful partner, Malik, that I live with, he is originally from Bali and works as a doctor, when he’s not out surfing or paddle boarding! I'm easy going, creative, a good-listener; tidy and self-contained. I used to work in education but left that behind for retirement and time to enjoy my creative urges. I'm an active photographer, particularly keen on portrait photography as well as a bit of street photography particularly when travelling; I'm very active in my local community, sing in an LGBTQIA+ Sea Shanty group and enjoy meeting new people and spending time with friends.
CURRENT MISSION Discover and experience as much as I can. And have fun! ABOUT ME I am an easy going, but very active person, always up for a hanging out. I grew up on Dartmoor in the UK, and have a house in Plymouth. Right now I am working on yachts, so will be moving around the world. So far my travels have taken me to Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, NL, Egypt, South East Asia and New Zealand where I lived for a year Early in 2024 I travelled for 4 months in South America, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Peru, Buenos Aires & Río . I enjoy hearing everyone's different life perspectives and life experiences and sharing my own, so whoever you are it would be great to meet you :) PHILOSOPHY Be the change you want to see in the world. You are never wrong to do the right thing.

CURRENT MISSION I strive to discover the essence of life and experience the world as much as possible. Hosting is like inviting the world into my life and learning of other cultures. ABOUT ME I have a happy and a caring personality and like to think of the glass overflowing (if you know what I mean ?) I love to help people out as far as I am able, but I tire easily of people who are self important and entitled. I consider honesty to be of paramount importance. No one can complain when honesty is the rule. PHILOSOPHY I aim to reach at-one-ment. To be comfortable with my own humanity and a wise man of this world through lifes rich tapestry. There is something good in almost every situation, I enjoy the process of discovery of new and amazing experiences. I love to be spontaneous and able to say Yes to any eventuality if at all possible.
>>>Please message me again if I don't reply because often messages don't come through 🤷♀️<<< Follow my new Instagram @hostingandhomemade to learn more about my hosting experiences. Will not be able to host for the next 6 months so am cancelling my subscription. Can meet up but idk if I'll see any messages without a subscription. I work in Plymouth and am from London. I studied at Newcastle University and University of Oxford so can show you around those cities. I love eating out, watersports, escape rooms, long hot baths, films and going to the theatre. I've worked in project management, naval architecture, and teaching. I'm LGBT+ friendly, like animals, don't smoke, and only drink socially. What to do in Plymouth: At the top of town visit The Box (a free museum). Walk through town (Armada Way) and grab a pasty (~£5), walk to the Hoe and see the seafront. If it's summer go up Smeaton's Tower (the lighthouse) (£5) and see if you can in advance organise a tour of the Citadel. Fancy a swim then the Tinside Lido in the summer (£10). Then continue down to the Barbican for Fish & chips (~£10). Visit the famous aquarium (~£20) and the Mayflower museum (~£5). You can take a ferry (~£4) across to Mount Batten and go up the tower (~£2) or for a walk. The next day visit Royal William's Yard for a meal (~£20) and Google to see if they have any art exhibitions on our craft fairs. Take the ferry over (~£4) to Mount Edgecumbe and walk the grounds, investigate in advance if they are offering a house tour (often free if there's an event). Other things to investigate is whether any events are happening on the Barbican (many in the summer like Pirates day and a fish festival), The Plot (Union Street), the high street (in winter they do a Christmas market, the Christmas lights switch on), and Market Hall (Devonport). Saturdays there's Central Park parkrun at 9am (5k run/jog/walk). If you're into football check out Plymouth Argyle. Into live music and pubs Plymouth has a lot of pubs all over and there's clubs and pubs on the Barbican. In August we have the fireworks championships (free). A bit further afield, so not walking distance from mine, is Saltram House, Tamar Bridge and Brunel museum, other areas like Saltash, Cornwall, Dartmoor for hiking, beaches though better to visit in the summer, many other walks/hikes.

I want to explore, connect with people, and learn more about the life I want to create for myself. "Fun Facts" 1) People, including near-perfect strangers, often feel compelled to tell me some of the most intimate details of their life experiences, unprompted. 2) I'm not good at censoring myself. 3) I enjoy people who talk a lot. 4) I rarely take photos, even when I'm traveling.
CURRENT MISSION Brightening the world through random acts of kindness! ABOUT ME I think I have a friendly, easy-going personality. I am polite, helpful and generous with a dry sense of humour. I love travelling. I have been lucky enough to visit many European countries as well as Australia, Japan, Mexico and the USA.
***I am unable to host for the upcoming months as I will be away traveling.*** I like to simply enjoy life, to smile and am curious. Originally from Slovakia, but Hungarian living in the UK, longing everywhere... a bit of all, I guess?! :) Travelling has been one of my biggest passion for the past adventurous and joyful 10 years of my life. I've already seen many pretty cool places and I do not plan to end exploring our beautiful planet Earth anytime soon. :) I could fill in this About Me section properly but I am that kind of person who likes to actually get to know the people in person, however I believe that my references can speak for me. The reason I travel is the culture, the nature, the people and the priceless memories I make. I have made true friendships on CS and learnt so much that I can proudly say I would not be the person I am today without all the traveling I have done. I am very blessed, so I am here to share and give back to the community. An instagram account I am too lazy to update: @chillytravels
