Helloo, my friend and I are traveling right now and are using the interrail pass to do some insel hopping in greece. Unfortunately the hotels are way to expensive… So we ended up here! We are open minded and nice people who are just looking for a safe place to stay:)

A chill person who enjoys his island and loves to learn from other people.

If you want to stay with me, please don’t let this discourage you from writing to me.) 🌻 • My purpose on this platform is to create friendships and interact with people who truly believe in the basic values and idea of Couchsurfing, which for me are human-oriented traveling, trust, cultural exchange, and scratching a bit more under the surface of a place than you do as a tourist. So, if we share any of these values, we will most probably discover more along the way. You also need to consider that I am not on holiday on the island or traveling, as I run my own business, which requires many working hours to manage. So most definitely I won’t be able to join you in all your activities. However, if I accept your request, I will make sure to create some time, and we will definitely have fun chatting at home or in the garden. ▶️ I host with priority: people who came to work while seeking a place to rent, students, and people who can’t afford the overpriced hotels on the island. If this is your case, please feel free to let me know. *💬 [I never thought I would have to mention this in my bio when I first joined the platform, but since then, years have passed, people have changed, the platform itself has changed, and the idea behind CS is somehow not the same anymore. Anyway… what I want to highlight is that Couchsurfing is not just free accommodation or a hostel. It is based on the idea of free traveling, but it is more than that. It is human (not place) oriented traveling: an act of trust, an open heart, solidarity, hope for a better and more communal society, and love for people. Digging further, it is also a political choice. If you don’t see yourself in this mindset, then you should look for a hostel or a BnB. There are plenty, and you will probably have a better and more comfortable time there. I am a topography engineer (land surveyor), so if you are interested in landscapes or hiking in nature, I know every inch of the island and I would love to show you around and help you have a great time. Also, if you are willing to help me in my job or keep me company while I map some areas, that would be awesome. If you are in a similar profession, it would be very interesting to exchange ideas and discuss the similarities and differences of our work in our countries. If you don’t have time to spend with me, don’t worry, it is totally OK, and just the fact that you open the door of your house to me is very important. If you would like to host me but you don’t have much time, just a few hours of sleep and a hot shower would be more than enough. I prefer to travel for educational and cultural reasons. I want to see how it feels to live in the place I am visiting, how life is, and who the people who live there are. I try to get a deeper understanding of the place. That is the reason I always visit places at least twice! I enjoy spending time with local people and getting to know them by doing anything spontaneous, learning their language and culture. I am more into spontaneous and solo traveling.
