Hey yall! Just a southern girl ready to explore this beautiful world we live on! When in the States, I live in my car and spend my life on the road. Now abroad, I’m planning on visiting every country, hitchhiking and adventuring my way through it all! I absolutely love meeting new beautiful souls, sharing amazing stories together and experiencing new cultures. Life is all about making every day an adventure! Let’s go on a road trip together, or camping, or karaoke, or sky diving…! I just moved to Queenstown and have a spare couch in the house. Would need to confirm with the roomies if they’re okay having guests, but if you’re looking for a place to crash, send me a message and I’ll see what I can do. I’ve been hosted by so many lovely humans all over the world and now I want to repay that favor and be a host myself :)
IM NOT HOSTING IN WANAKA 🫣 I am a friendly person who loves spending time outside exploring new places. I love the mountains, ocean and all the nature around me. Trying to be happy and positive, spreading only good vibes and talking sometimes too much 😉 I am honest, polite, nice and easy going.

I like to entertain and will try and show you a good time. And if you have never been to this part of the world I'll love to share it with you. And lots of good one day hikes around the area

I'm Jannis, a marine biology student, traveller and hitchhiker from Germany.
I used to be the number 1 host in Auckland during 2016-2020 at my place on Waiheke island. Ive hosted over 300 people at my home there over the years. After Covid things changed a bit and i haven’t properly hosted since then, for the past couple years I’ve been living in Wanaka and decided to start hosting again. I found the most important thing to achieve happiness is to help other people and approach the world with a compassionate and loving attitude. I found so much joy in sharing my place on Waiheke island. I enjoy good food, wine, music and being outdoors. I spend my time trying to create and understand. I love cooking, making music and building things. I can talk for hours about psychology, spirituality/religion and politics.
** PLEASE read (at least) the ''MY HOME'' section before to send a request ** ABOUT ME French guy arrived in NZ in 2017 to enjoy this stunning country !!! Love being in the outdoors, mostly for paragliding an, when it's not flyable, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, rock climbing .... :) Appart from this... too difficult for me to desribe myself :) But I think I'm open minded and I really like to meet people from everywhere and learn about them !
CURRENT MISSION Travelling, volunteering, experiencing, connecting ABOUT I am solo travelling, working a little, learning and developing along the way. I would love to meet locals and learn about your culture and how you see your home town/city. I'd love to share stories, food and tales of past experiences. I love the outdoors, especially hiking off the beaten track, mountain biking and swimming in the sea. I love adventure, exploring new places and connecting with locals. I enjoy latin dancing and yoga, and am working on meditation. Some life achievements/highlights include building and living in a tiny house with my ex-partner, completing a 600 km adventure race over 6 days in the NZ wilderness, completing my master's degree and building a career, and travelling NZ while working remotely and then setting in Queenstown and now Wanaka after my life completely changed course. PHILOSOPHY Live the life that works for you. Listen and show compassion.
Hey, I'm a Kiwi who just recently moved to Wānaka NZ with the plan to start a co-living space. Before this, from 2016-2024, I was backpacking around the world. Meeting new and interesting people is my favourite part of travelling and in my opinion there is no better way to do so than couchsurfing. I dropped out of school when I was 16 and soon started solo travelling, working as a scuba diving instructor for about 3 years before slowing down in Berlin for 2.5 years where I worked as a software engineer. I then hit the road again for about another 2.5 years before moving to Wanaka, New Zealand in an attempt to slow down a bit. In total I have backpacked through ~50 countries and 6 continents. Looking forward to meeting you :)
** Currently hard to host - please READ my profile as I still receive request for more than 1 person or people writing just to have a place to sleep... ** Note that I don't live in Wānaka town, I live in Lake Hawea - 13km from Wanaka and no public transport. Very easy going guy, who likes to travel. I enjoy the nature as much as meet new people. I'm not a party animal person, but I like to socialize with friends and have some drinks. Since I started to travel, I met many people from different cultures that make me be more tolerant and open minded... it's the reason why I love to travel. Lived for more than 10 years in New Zealand, where I received people at home many times, and I stayed with families sometimes and definitely opened more my eyes! Then I continued in Germany and other places in Europe, meeting always interesting people... yes, this is the way to travel and know more the locals! :D I like to cook when I'm with friends, so if you also like and enjoy a dinner at home, I'm sure we can have a good time!
