In general, I am very active. Also, I think we should be always happy because it's completely free :), but i am aware that the context and path of each person is totally different, so i don't judge anybody. I consider myself very very positive (but realistic). I always try to find a positive point of view of everything. In the end we are here for a short amount of time, and everything will kill you, so choose something funny. For some things i'am Spanish, for other things Dominican and for other things i have become a bit Swiss, it will depend on the context., but in general, i use to be funny above all. I would also say planned-spontaneity , because most of the things are problems of the future 😄 Now, i recently moved to my dream location 🤩 Sometimes dreams comes true I'm 99% of the time happy, except when I'm tired and also hungry (hangry), so do not make any comment in that situation because I might kill you hahaha 😝 I am an extremely easygoing guy who has a passionate love for sport (in particular, cycling and running and skiing), but actually, I'm not very enthusiastic about hiking (but i could do it with the right motivation =). That's why I decided to study sport sciences years ago. Then, I got the Ph.D with a mix of experimental psychology and bla bla bla👨🏽⚕️ I do not think I'm an ordinary guy, but it does not imply that is good or bad, just different 😚 Everything is relative depending on the eyes of the person who is looking at. I have learned from mistakes to become better. Also, I'm fond of languages, foods, and travel (the combo of them, it's the perfect plan). I am very interested in outdoor activities. I'm addictive to the Alps, and mountains in general, to ride the bike, run, ski, etc. I love cooking and of course eating new "things"!! I have very very very, open minded and liberal. I do not follow social rules to match with everyone. I’ve never (never is never, not once or so :-)) drunk alcohol or smoked :) Normally, I have to be (i want to be?) available almost 24/7 because my work (YES, research is a Job) is quite unpredictable. Fortunately, I LOVE PostDoc life :). If you let me know in advance I could manage to host you. It will be easier if we share any hobby or whether you speak a foreign language such as German, French or Italian, and Sarcasm because I'm really interested in keeping on learning (but language is not a requirement). If you speak any of them, you "must" write me the request in your mother tongue! With a funny message (in any language), better 😃 My timetables are quite similar every day because for me every day it's important and i "work" remotely. I wake up "early" (it is relative for everyone...) to take advantage of the day. I really love to wake up early 🙃 I usually reply all messages! At least... :) BUT If you think that we do not have anything, anything, anything in common, do not waste your time, and do not waste my time . With a nice message is much better, as i've received more than 500 requests ? (80%F-20%M), and i would like to host as much a possible, but sometimes it is just a matter of timing, and timing in life is a bitch ;) Last, but not least, do not send me requests for like 2 months in advance, because i don’t even know what i am going to have for dinner tonight 😅 Finally, i am not fan of “quickies “, i mean, in terms of one night requests in a rush for a place to stay. Also, if the dates are blocked, do not send me a message because they are normally blocked for a reason 😆
Hey all, my name is Michi, I`m originally from Austria. Since 2018, I have been living in a beautiful little village in Switzerland. Back in 2015, I started to travel the world for two and a half years - alone. This trip completely changed my whole life. I became addicted to this adventurous lifestyle. Luckily I found a great compromise with my employer, and now I am able to travel frequently. I have a passion for discovering hidden gems, exploring nature and spending time in the great outdoors. During all my trips I have met the most hospitable and friendly people ever - especially through couchsurfing. I really love the spirit of this platform and hope to connect with even more amazing people around the world. ABOUT ME: I would describe myself as adventurous, spontaneous, fun-loving and easygoing. I am a nature loving Swiss guy explore the world and happy to share my world with you. Interested in any adventure you may put in front of me or i may just walk away couple 1000 Kilometers usualy In general im happy for no reason but that's fine. March 2019 i quit my job indefinitely to go travel, not really knowing what i was up to i opened up a workaway account and got requests from potential hosts right away so i ended up gooing for 2 months to Ireland as kind of a trial run wondering if i would even be happy traveling. Figured out i sure did. After just a week abroad i found my best friend, my dearest Darling, my Lady Maddi. Shortly after i got intruduced to CS and i've meet so many great people since. Traveling and hosting. After the summer in Ireland i was confident that i would want to travel more and that i'd be happy doing so. In Fall i headed to Canada and explored Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Toronto before i walked across the bridge at Niagara Falls to get into the US. Where i started beeing a wild walker by hiking the Long Trail in Vermont for 3 weeks. Then spent some time with Maddi and finally went to explore New York City, Miami and Key West before heading to Puerto Rico to volunteer for 2 amazing months in Yabucoa. With so many great people. Back to the US after that i went to my Lady which now ended up being officially my Lady. Here i was preparing to walk the Pacific Crest Trail a wonderful little walk. So March 3 i stood there at the Border to Mexico ready to walk to Canada i thought. But nevermind 3 weeks into the awesome adventure we all know what happened so i flew back to my dear and moved into her parents House where i was helping to change the kitchen counter. 2 months later still not done with this simple task somehow the whole 1.st floor has been taken apart and partially put back together again me and Maddi decided we'd go an a road trip. We sure did 3 months and 20 National Parks later we got back to the House and the Kitchen was almost put back together. So i stayed for a bit longer and the Day i left we put the floor in and the Kitchen counter was basically renovated. Back home i found my House "little Paradise" and went to collect some coins so i could keep on traveling and go visit my Lady. A couple complications later i ended up in Guatemala because there was no other way to get into the US except spending 2 weeks outside of europe. Oh well it was great. In the US we did a bit more exploring and had a great time hiking around. 2022 i sure packed up again and got back to the Mexican border again to now do this great walk to Canada. What a summer.
Hi there =) I’ve been living as a nomad for over one dekade and don’t have a permanent home. The location shown here is my mother’s place — I stay there 2–4 weeks a year and can occasionally host during that time. Exact dates vary (usually spring and autumn), so the chance I’ll be hosting is fairly low. If I settle somewhere again in the future, I’ll be happy to host more often. For now I will only reply to couch requests that include the word “squirrel” in the first three lines — that lets me know you read my profile. Thanks for understanding and good travels! To understand me, one might seek insight from those within my network of references; they could paint a more vivid picture of who I am than I could ever articulate. My ambition extends beyond mere accumulation; I aspire to streamline my life to the point where I find contentment with just a handful of possessions. In the garden of my mind, I nurture the blossoming of ideas and possibilities, relishing in the vibrant tapestry of life. Life, to me, is a canvas waiting to be painted with the colors of experience and growth. My artistry lies in the realm of imagination, where I craft intricate life-world scenarios, weaving together threads of possibility and vision. I eagerly anticipate the unfolding of what lies ahead, embracing the journey with an open heart and a curious mind.

Like to meet new people all over the world
I am an open, friendly and uncomplicated person who enjoys meeting new people. I love my work with the children, which always makes me very happy. Besides work (or even during work) I love to make music or paint. In summer I like to go hiking and swimming in the lake, in winter go skiing.
Hi travellers, I'm Roland. Nice to meet you! Meeting people from all over the world is a passion of mine. I live in Unterseen, which is a part of the scenic town of Interlaken, well-known for adventure sports, beautiful mountains and two lakes. I work as the CEO of the local Bank EKI and I‘m also a board member of the public hospital group in our area. My wife Ursula and I, we have three grown-up kids who moved out, but often spend weekends home. We live in Unterseen/Interlaken for more than 25 years and know the town and the surrounding area pretty well. We like to share our knowledge with travellers. We also like all kinds of sports, so if you plan to go hiking or running, or skiing (winter), or swimming (summer), just let us know. 🇨🇭 Watch this youtube video for top destinations close to my hometown: https://youtu.be/bkjnQDS0_dI?si=VtELvT-5ZKUdZCM0 💥 Watch this youtube video to avoid common mistakes in the Interlaken area: https://youtu.be/Ad24acMQMkQ?si=5eBDRt3ZFwVY-0jV
Hi to all the great surfers Interlaken is a very touristy place, everyday I receive a loooooot of CS requests. Please understand me and don't take it personaly, if after rejecting your request I do not write a message with an explanation. It really takes just too much time. Just letting you know that I always appreciate those personal requests that I am receiving. I was born in 1991 and am always trying to be happy and thinking forward. I'm an open minded person who is always believing the best in people.
I’m a little bit shy at the beginning , but after a while I can become your best friend! The people who know me define me as a kind, happy, fun, friendly and dreamy person. I actually spend the day laughing. It’s hard to me to spend more than 5 minutes without playing a joke or using sarcasm. I’m an open-minded person who understands any point of view. I'm pretty good at listening, giving advice, and learning. Those qualities and many others I have learned in my job as a waiter. I am also a student in economic sciences, so we could have an interesting conversation about current economic theories.
Good Lord this App Update is a pain in the Ass now ! Whatever, I need to inform you that I got a (male) Flatmate until End of October which means I can’t provide you with a private room and a own bed but what I can offer is my dressing room and a bigger air mattress or even a big couch (fell asleep on it several times, might do the trick). 👉I prefer to host just Friday to Sunday. Other days might be possible but from now I need the confirmation of my Flatmate aswell👈. Hey, my name is Rico and I’m originally from Germany. I am into nearly every Cuisine so if you just don’t want to eat alone - count me in ! Besides this I love being outdoors, at or in the water and I might stop listening to you when a Dog is passing by. Feel free to ask me whatever you want, i try to answer as fast as i can :)
I'm friendly, positive, always smiling, and happy to help.
