I'm married and my wife and I live in a small village in Oxfordshire not far from Oxford. The village we live in just happens to be where the village scenes fir the TV series Downton Abbey are filmed. Our home has a large garden and we have a springer spaniel called Mollie. The house backs onto open fields so there's plenty of opportunity for long walks in the countryside. CURRENT MISSION To promote tolerance and to visit supermarkets (fabulous cultural reference points!) in foreign countries. ABOUT ME I play the bass and I take photographs everywhere and all the time. I love traveling and getting to places in unusual ways. I adore walking around foreign towns with a camera. I am willing to try anything, especially food. I've recently embarked on a part time degree course studying astronomy and cosmology - just finished my first year. PHILOSOPHY Live in the moment and don't do nothing.

Warum ich auf Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Hosted lots of folks when I lived on my own in Cambridge. Now that I live outside Oxford, I looking forward to hosting folks here too. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I have surfed in Kiev and Moscow. It was a fab experience and will be doing it again. When I lived in Cambridge, I hosted lots of folks.
Musik, Filme und Bücher
I go to the movies a lot. I like all sorts but especially like road movies, science fiction... 2001, Two-Lane Blacktop, Dark Star, Silent Running, Vanishing Point, Le Mans, Blow Up... And also subtitled films like Alice in the Cities, Alphaville, A Bout de Souffle. Books? I read books by authors who are still alive. Reading a lot of books at the moment about cosmology; the early history of the universe and string theory. Music is the soundtrack to my life. I like all sorts but especially electronica / experimental. I also try and make music. Examples are Hawkwind, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, My Bloody Valentine, Paddy Macaloon, Autechre... In my house, the radio is always on.

I have built a car, I have climbed Kili, I have cycled across the Golden Gate bridge, I have navigated the Tokyo subway, I have eaten green slimy steak in Montreal (best steak I ever ate)... OK, that's more than one. Ooops.

I can talk about photography for hours on end. I have been doing it for nearly 30 years. I can coach on the bass. And learn about the universe.
Meine Interessen
Bass playing. Photography (have a look at my website and please let me have some constructive criticism - nobody else does!). I travel and I walk. And I cook - I don't compromise on food. I listen to music all the time. I never go anywhere without a camera.
