I think, it may be quite a good idea and a sort of experience to live and communicate with locals. No doubt, it can broaden one's mind, extend your horizons and, in addition, it's a good way to make friends which is always amazing:)

Listen to, watch and read the things that I like, don't have the criteria that may influence the choice.
