I Live in Driebergen, very close to Utrecht and quite close to Amsterdam. The good thing about Driebergen that it's next to a great national park: 'Utrechtse Heuvelrug'. Amazing for hanging out and hiking if you've had enough of the hectic city life. Also great for mountainbiking, there are some great single tracks in the park. there's is one you can start from my place.
