Hi! I’m Giwon from Korea, currently a third-year student in Software Convergence and doing a research stay in Saarbrücken, Germany. I’m a curious maker who loves animals, good conversations, and spontaneous city walks. By day I work on AI + biotech projects (think tiny organisms, sensors, and health), and by night I’m hunting the best local bakery, indie coffee shop, or sunset viewpoint. Friends describe me as respectful, tidy, and calm—but always up for trying something new. I don’t smoke, I’m comfortable with pets, and I’m happy to help with cooking, dishes I travel to learn everyday life from locals rather than to tick boxes, so I value clear communication and leaving places better than I found them.

Warum ich auf Couchsurfing bin
I use Couchsurfing to meet people I would never meet otherwise and to exchange small pieces of daily life—recipes, stories, music, and tips about the city. I’m not looking for free accommodation; I’m looking for connection and cultural exchange. As a guest, I’m quiet, clean, and independent. As a host in the future, I want to give travelers the same warm welcome I received.
Musik, Filme und Bücher
I enjoy character-driven stories and creative sci-fi.
Eine tolle Sache, die ich getan habe
Led a student team that built and presented a working small rocket at a national competition—one of my proudest maker moments. Worked on a research project using tiny organisms and sensors to study human health, and presented the idea in startup competitions. Represented Korean university students at a presidential dinner event—an unforgettable honor that taught me humility and responsibility.
Lehren, Lernen, Teilen
Teach: Basic Korean phrases, simple Korean home-cooking (kimchi fried rice, bulgogi-style bowls), beginner photography tips, and quick tech help (phone/laptop cleanup, Wi-Fi). Learn: Local recipes, your city’s “ordinary but special” places, and a few phrases in your language. Share: Groceries, coffee runs, playlists, and travel stories. I’m happy to cook dinner for us.
Was ich mit Hosts teilen kann
Respect for your home, clear communication, and a clean kitchen after I cook. Quiet hours are no problem; I keep early/regular hours and will adapt to your house rules.
