Third-culture kid "from" lots of different places. I grew up in Malaysia for half my life, and in New Zealand for the other half. It's made me a bit of a cultural Chimera, but also more aware of how many different ways there are to live in this world. I studied mathematics at university and am a bit of a science nerd. Right now, I'm a new PhD student in logic and computer science at the University of Innsbruck. I'm not the biggest talker when you first get to know me, but I enjoy lots of different kinds of activities and thinking deeply about things. Now I live in Austria and try to take as much advantage of the Schengen area as I can!

Warum ich auf Couchsurfing bin
When traveling: to live with and learn from the locals—Quirky non-tourist places, local culture in all its expressions, and new friends of different experiences and points of view. When hosting: to share a little space with nice travelers, provide a comfortable and quiet space for them to come back to, and perhaps make a few friends along the way.
Musik, Filme und Bücher
+ Wes Anderson is great, my favorites are The Royal Tenenbaums and Moonrise Kingdom! + Also any sort of musical/musical movie: The Lion King, Les Misérables, Moulin Rouge, La La Land... I'll also gladly sing along to any Disney song you can name :p + Musically I'm a sucker for indie, folk, symphonic pop/rock, and anything Irish. Bachata and cringey Latin American dance tunes are my guilty pleasure. '70s and '80s music is guaranteed to get me boogieing! + Specific names I like: The New Pornographers, BØRNS, The Paper Kites, Natalia Lafourcade, The Civil Wars. More mainstream names I like: Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Switchfoot.

+ Did you know that infinity has different sizes, and that deep down, there's no difference between doughnuts and coffee cups? I can use math to show you exactly how! + I also like to dance salsa and bachata, I can teach the moves I know and am also always up to learn new ones. + There's a traditional New Zealand dessert called a pavlova, it's to die for and I'd gladly share the recipe. It also needs to be left in the oven overnight, so you have a perfect reason to host me!
Was ich mit Hosts teilen kann
Quiet, chill company and deeper conversation. Wacky, silly dance moves (if the music's right). Fun games, puzzles, and intellectual stimulation.
