My father and I have been riding bikes, hiking, and hitching our way around America. It started when we rode our bikes from New Jersey to Oklahoma along several rail-to-trail bike paths and busy interstates. Feeling dissatisfied with our work in New Jersey we decided to try something completely different and challenging. We sold what we had, got on bikes, and rode them out to Oklahoma fundraising for a dog rescue shelter located in Oklahoma. The experience was beyond words and we fell in love with that sort of life style immediately. We went and hiked the Appalachian trail afterwords and hitched around Florida up to Colorado after our hike. We haven't looked back since. The people, the towns, the wilderness, and the amazing experiences we've both shared is why we're on here couch surfing.
