My name is Maddy, I'm 21 from Australia and love to travel. I much prefer authentic experiences over touristy ones, hence I'm on couch surfing to get to know locals and experience their culture. I'm on exchange in Madrid and soon to go traveling for one month around Europe in January/February. I'm studying Marketing and Media & Communication in Australia at the Queensland University of Technology but have studied in Liege, Belgium and Madrid, Spain on current and previous exchanges. I love to learn new languages and love to experiences new cultures and places!

Warum ich auf Couchsurfing bin
I prefer to have an authentic travel experience than to see a hotel and the super touristy places/experience. The people you share your holiday with are the moments you remember the most and that I cherish the most. Having the chance to travel somewhere I've never been and have a local give me the lowdown on the area is priceless. Meeting new people and experiencing new things is why travel appeals to me so much!

Eine tolle Sache, die ich getan habe
I did an exchange to Belgium for one year when I was 17 where I didn't know anyone, hardly knew the language (french), and had never been to Europe. It was definitely the hardest thing I've done, being away from family and friends, but also the most rewarding year as I progressively learnt the language, broke down the language barrier, and made unforgettable memories and friends. I am now about to travel by myself for the first time which is daunting yet exciting, so I cant wait to share the memories with some locals!
