The first question I’m almost always asked is, “Where are you from?” It’s a simple question, but after traveling for more than 15 years and living in some countries long enough to call them home, the answer isn’t so straightforward. I’m a writer, and during all these travels, I’ve written over 60 books. Sometimes I lose count, as many more are still sitting in folders on my Mac, waiting for a revision or a cover photograph. I’m also a photographer, and I teach photography at a university. You know what it’s like living the expat life, but that’s a story I’ll save for when we meet. I’m a good listener, and if you share your travel stories, I’d love to hear them. Later, with your permission, I might weave them into my writing or share them with my students—capturing every detail. I’m a die-hard Lonely Planet traveler and own nearly all their guidebooks. Instead of relying on Google Maps, I still enjoy using the classic maps they include. That’s all for now. Let’s meet up and exchange life stories. If you host me, we might end up talking all night, and who knows—perhaps we’ll become lifelong friends on this Earth. :)
