Warum ich auf Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I've done a few homestays while I backpacked around a bit of Southeast Asia. I really enjoyed getting more of a local flavour for things.
Musik, Filme und Bücher
Films, I'm a big horror fan. I also like documentaries (and Ted Talks!), sci-fi, suspense and comedies. I'll watch pretty much anything though. Anything by Wes Anderson is always good. I appreciate all genres of music, particularly: various sub-genres of electronica, rock, classical, folk, blues, rap, hip-hop, metal and old school r&b. Love Neil Gaiman, Margaret Atwood, Chuck Palahniuk, Sylvia Plath. 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' is also a favourite.
Eine tolle Sache, die ich getan habe
Trekking through villages in Myanmar was quite special. As was doing a night dive off of Gili T. in Indonesia, turning off our torches and swimming in almost full darkness except for the quick flashes of lightening above us and the bioluminescent flagellates acting as micro stars underwater.

Random fact I'm trying to remind myself of as I try to reset my sleep schedule: Blue light (from computer and phone screens) mimics sunlight. Melatonin is a chemical produced by the pineal gland in our brains which is what regulates our sleep-wake schedule. This is only able to be produced in the dark, thus, when we're on our phones and computers late into the evening, we are making it harder for us to sleep. There are applications which slowly turn the blue light into red on computers in order to allow the production of melatonin to occur once the sun has set.
