Update - September 2025 I have now landed in Brussels, Belgium for at least a year. My apartment is tiny. All I can offer is a mattress on the floor. If that does not scare you off, you’re more than welcome to stay. ************************************************************** I eat. I sleep. I read. I travel. (Mostly travel.) I’m hopelessly addicted to travel. When I hit the “grand old age” of 50 in 2024, I quit a job I loved just so I could feed this addiction full-time. Life is short so why not spend it chasing new stories, meals, and sunsets? I couchsurf to keep costs low, but I’m a considerate guest - and a seasoned host - so I understand the mysterious art of “guest/host diplomacy”. Clean, polite, and occasionally funny (bonus points if you laugh at my jokes). Why do I travel? To grow. To live meaningfully. To eat food I can’t pronounce. To swap stories, ideas, and occasionally life advice with strangers who become friends. I adore people, quirky history, local art, and cultural oddities (the stranger the better). Curious about me? My references speak louder than I ever could. House Rules (because freedom without rules is chaos): • I host young surfers too, but guests closer to my age get first dibs. • If nightlife is your main plan, I’m probably not your host. • Leaving a reference is good karma. Can’t be bothered? Then don’t bother asking. • One night = meh. Two nights = okay. Three nights = awesome. Four nights = possible if we vibe. • Requests more than two weeks in advance? Declined automatically. If you follow these rules, you’ll have a clean, comfortable stay - and maybe even a few laughs.

Warum ich auf Couchsurfing bin
I’m in couchsurfing to meet new people, swap stories, and see a country through its people - whether they were born there, adopted it, or somehow accidentally ended up there. Since I first wrote my profile many years ago, I’ve been both host and guest a fair bit. Nearly all my experiences have been amazing - some people I’ve kept in touch with, some I’ve travelled with, and a lucky few I now call proper friends. Couchsurfing has given me memories, laughs, and stories I’ll never forget… and occasionally a couch that squeaks in just the right way.

Eine tolle Sache, die ich getan habe
Travel. Always travel. It keeps life interesting, unpredictable, and ridiculously fun. One of my wildest adventures? Riding pillion on a motorbike for five months across Central Asia. From Turkmenistan to Pakistan, weaving through all the Stans, then looping back to Georgia via Russia. Mountains, deserts, dodgy roads, unforgettable people, and more surprises than my seat could handle. Five months of dust in my hair, wind in my face, and the kind of stories that make every ordinary day back home feel… well, ordinary.
Lehren, Lernen, Teilen
I believe everyone has something to teach me, and I can’t wait to learn from both hosts and fellow travellers. I also try to share a bit of my time - and maybe a few local secrets - with anyone lucky enough to visit my corner of the world.
