Any info on a room to rent in Amersfoort?

Hi CS-ers from Amersfoort!

At the end of this month (October) I am moving to Amersfoort for half a year- from November to May. I've searched for a room on Kamernet.nl and other pages, but for now I didn't have much progress, so I decided to search for some help here. I am a student from Croatia who is moving to Amersfoort for an internship. I love traveling, hiking, camping and especially meeting new people and places. I am looking for a room in a shared flat with roommates who like to hang out all together sometimes, make dinner, have a beer, play board games... I always tend to have a good relationship with my roommates so that we can hang out together, but also that we know how to respect each other's personal space and privacy when it is needed. I am excited about my Amersfoort experience since all the Dutch people I've met so far strike me as the ones who have found the secret of how to be happy in life. That's why I believe I will blend in easily and enjoy Amersfoort with amazing new people :)

So, if anyone knows about a furnished room to rent in a shared flat in Amersfoort for 350 eur (+/- 50eur) please let me know. If not for half a year, the first month will do alright and then I can search for a room there, cause it is easier to search in person then via the internet. Thank you for any info you can share!

if you find a room but it is too expensive, you can always check if the price is over the maximum according to the dutch point system, take the room and request the "huurcommissie" to lower your rent. in the netherlands we have multiple laws that protect people who rent their house or room , one of them is that the smaller houses and the not to big rooms cannot be rented out for more then according to the point system. most people who rent out rooms or their house dont care about these laws. the website where you can fil in the form to check the price: https://www.huurcommissie.nl/onderwerpen/huurprijs-en-punten/huurprijscheck-en-puntentelling/

it is in dutch, so you might need a dutchie to help you. or you can go to the "juridisch loket", which can help you with short questions on legal matters.

you could also place an add on marktplaats.nl , which is the dutch ebay, but besides products, you can also sell/rent out services and rooms/houses. searching for a room there usually does not work.

Thanks for the advice Cor-Jan! How do they check the price? Via internet or do they come in person to the room? Do you think this would make the landlord angry and then he wouldn't want to rent the room?

I found a furnished room for you on Marktplaats. Maybe use Google translate for using marktplaats.com because it has some good offers sometimes!

Did you also try http://www.woongroep.net/? this is especially for shared housing. You can also put up your own add in the section "bewoner zoekt woongroep": http://www.woongroep.net/?cid=2;sort=creation_date;order=desc Just give a small preview who you are, what you are looking for, what you have to offer as a temporary house mate.
