Where should I stay?

My goal is to stay somewhere that is walkable in terms of night life. I don't mind having to walk more, Uber, or MARTA during the day to get to "touristy" things.

Should I look at Downtown? Midtown? Buckhead?

Within the area, where should I look at in terms of cross streets, specifically? For example, if Midtown is recommended I can get a place nearby the Fox Theatre, one on 7th/Peachtree, one by the Colony Sq Mall, etc. for example.

Hi!

There are several places for night life. Midtown is probably the stereotypical scene for night life. If you draw a box bordered by the highway, Fox Theater, the east side of Piedmont Park and 17th street on the north you should have plenty of night life of all sorts (bars, clubs, concert venues, etc.), and it is easy to access MARTA. This would be my first choice for someone looking for a wide variety of options.

If you're after a more hipster vibe, Little Five (NOT Five points on the MARTA line, big difference), or East Atlanta Village offer good scenes, but it is more difficult to access via MARTA. Lots of good places to drink and some good venues for live music as well.

Decatur Square has nice restaurants, and is well suited for families and a more laid back vibe. I can't think of any clubs, but various places are good for drinks. It is fairly east of most attractions but it is served by a MARTA line.

I don't have more specific cross streets I could suggest, but I hope this helps a little.

Hey Eric,

Thanks for the reply. So, within the bounding box, I got down to two possible places:

The W Midtown Hotel, which is right next to the Colony Square Mall.
AirBnB, which is at Peachtree/4th.

I know they aren't that far apart, but just wondering which section is the better stay?

Stay at The Big House on Ponce air B and B artsy and music shows there and close to everything.

Also, consider ...

(depending on your circle of friends) if you´ll find yourself OTP, such as in Roswell, Alpharetta , or Johns Creek

I lived in Druid Hills, and found myself hanging with buddies in Alpharetta. Not really a big deal, but in terms of convenience, if I had stayed in Buckhead or Roswell, it would´ve been a bit more convenient
