"WELCOME TO “ADVICE FOR HOSTS”. We are a friendly group willing to help all hosts. Have you hosted or want to start hosting? Is there anything you would like to know more about? Have you got an interesting / fun / disappointing / strange / questionable hosting experience to share? We are here to exchange experiences and ideas, in order to enjoy the CS “journey". We are an international, multicultural group, so please be tolerant and open-minded when reading other people's opinions and experiences, and understand that miscommunications can also be due to a simple language barrier. Advice and/or criticism should remain positive and constructive at all times.

For more info, refer to the official Couchsurfing policies, guidelines, safety tips and terms of use:

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE GROUP TO POST: Couch requests, advertising, spam, invitations, requests for meetups, surveys, questionnaires, job offers, whatsapp groups, fundraising, homework help, visa help, visa requests, extremely localised questions, country promotion, insults, attack or harassment on individuals. Moderators will intervene if and when:

  • SPAM is spread

  • Violence is being used or advocated

  • Members are being personally attacked

  • Members' privacy is being violated

  • Topics are strongly derailed

  • Non-constructive / destructive criticism is being offered instead of the help and advice for which this group is designed

We ask all people who start a thread to please be responsible for your own thread and do not hesitate to report posts to the safety team, get in touch with a moderator or completely delete the thread if you feel that it has gone too far. We generally try to keep the threads up as they contain lots of useful information and fun discussions, but we do understand that this is not alw

Hi, I'm from Costa Rica. I downloaded this app and paid for the verification because I wanted to meet people, connect with travelers, and even host them. However, it's been two months and I still haven't been able to interact with anyone because I don't really understand how the app works. Could you please help me?
