Velib' is very cheap: you can take a day ticket for a few euros. The only problem is the caution so you need to have at least 200€ on your bank account. Usually it is used for 30- 45 minutes, but you can always wait 3 minutes and take a new one. Most people in Paris don't have their own bike but the city system I think there is a service in gare de Lyon but you need to rent for 24 h.
