Need an emergency host in Gothenburg? Join this group! Want to host people in Gothenburg? Join this group!

If you are looking for a last minute host and it's less then 72 hours before you plan to arrive, this is the place for you!

Please only use this group as a last resort and not for general requests as doing so will reduce the effectiveness of the group.

If you do not need an emergency host we encourage you to use the CouchSearch tool provided by the CS webpage.

Here is a link with tips on how to write a couchrequest and some general CS info.

If you don't find a host, there are some options of hostels around Gothenburg.

FOR HOSTS: When joining put the Communications settings to Instant, so you'll get an email instantly if someone writes an emergency couchrequest!

FOR SURFERS: Add your mobile number! And I suggest you check the references for the hosts that agrees to host you, especially if you're a solo traveller, there has been some issues with a member of this group.

It is also recommended that you stick to English or you may miss many potential hosts.

Opportunity to Represent a Kenyan Organization at EAIE Conference – Gothenburg, Sweden

We are a community-based organization from Kenya dedicated to empowering women and youth through education, skills training, and entrepreneurship.

From September 9–12, 2025, the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden. This premier event brings together international education professionals, and it will provide us with an excellent opportunity to connect with potential partners such as GoAbroad and many others in the international education space.

Since we are unable to travel to Sweden, we are seeking a representative based in Sweden (or able to attend in person) who can:

Represent our organization during the EAIE conference

Attend selected sessions and networking events

Introduce our mission and programs to potential collaborators

Connect specifically with GoAbroad and other relevant stakeholders

Engage with education institutions interested in bringing their students to Kenya for internships, university research projects, cultural exchange programs, and volunteering opportunities. These collaborations are central to our mission of creating meaningful pathways for global learning, community empowerment, and sustainable partnerships.

Collect conference materials, contacts, and share key insights with us afterward

If you are passionate about international education, women’s empowerment, and grassroots collaboration — and will be in Gothenburg during the conference — we would be delighted to work with you.
