One day in Juneau/searching where to stay/Mendenhall glacier

hey,guys! Coming to Juneau on 15th for one day after the whole summer in Skagway!! My ferry arives at 3:45pm, I still don't have where to stay, but really want to go to Mendenhall glacier. My plane to Seattle next day is at 2pm. Maybe somebody would like to suggest me where to stay(host me for one night???) and is it possible to go to the glacier the same day, what would be the best way ?

If you don't get somebody to host you, there is a nice youth hostel downtown, and it's very easy to get to the glacier by bus. There are inexpensive city buses that will get you within a mile of it (nice if it's not raining) or there are some blue buses that will take you right there. You can research all of this online. Sorry, I'm out of town right now, but that's the best advice I can give you.
