Rent a car, i think that's the cheapest way, cuz i don't think busses that goes from a city to another are allowed to stop in cueva de las maravillas, let me know if that works... Any other question you can ask

You can take a bus from La Romana to Las Cuevas, the buses typically stop anywhere you ask them to. To return, simply cross the highway and return on a bus going back to La Romana! It's not very far from the city. Have fun!
