Is there any super cheap hostel or accomodation for one? And advices about what to do in 3 days :)

Hi New Yorkers! I'm Flor from Argentina, and I'm gonna be in your city for a couple of nights (3) on a stopover since April 9th. I know Nyc is a little bit expensive, but I'd like to know, if there is some super cheap hostel or any kind of accomodation I could stay in for maybe less than $20 per night? haha. Is my first time in New York, and I'll be the whole day outside exploring the city, so I'll just use the place to sleep.

If you know some place or you have some advice about what I shouldn't miss in Nyc, I'll be very grateful.

Day 1 - Start with Central park From 59th Street entry(Famous Plaza is adjacent to it). You can visit METS/MOMA/Natural History if you feel like it (Entry is 25$ typical). Then use subway to come down to lower manhattan for Liberty island tour. Walk towards WTC on your way back. You can cover Bull, NYSE, Financial district ans WTC. From there take subway /walk(if you are game)/ uber to Brooklyn bridge (make sure its near sunset /night). Walk till Brooklyn side, get down, turn right and ask ppl for directions to the riverfront. Take pictures there (Famous manhattan skyline view). Carry a small Lock and key (in case want to tell some secret to the bridge :) and throw the key in water. It will be safe forever). Then walk back towards manhattan end and take a subway to timesquare. Wait, dont eat even if you are hungry! Once you are done with pictures and all, Walk to Rockerfeller Centre. Again, once you are done with picture , walk towards 53rd and 6th.It has one of NYC's best Street food - Halal Guys. Eat and again walk around till you get sleepy!!

Day 2 - Party time - Go to East village. Sit for some time in famous Washing Square park (Bob Dylan's old hangout place :) )is there. It's just opposite to Stern business school of NYU. Here are some places you can try - i) College crowd - Off the Wagon ii) Wicked Willies Once you are pretty Drunk, ask your friend(s) for Dollar Pizza. That's kinda customary thing with NYC.Every drunk person will go there and eat couple of slices before they head home :).

If you have some time, I would suggest take a train (called PATH) from 33rd and 5/6th towards JSQ (Journal Square) and get down at the station Newport. Welcome to New Jersey! This Riverfront also has a spectacular view of Manhattan.

Day 3 - Walk around the City!!!!

Place to stay - Try some places in Hoboken(NewJersey), Newport(New Jersey) .It has very good connectivity to City and comparatively Cheap. 20$ a night is not realistic in these areas though. Unfortunately, nothing is Cheap in NYC.Try AirBNB.

I would add that MET and AMNH are suggested donation - you do NOT have to pay the full $25. you can pay $1 and still get in. also, MOMA is free on Fridays from 4pm to 8pm (but it WILL be crowded)

a cheap (meaning free) alternative to visiting Liberty Island or going on a downtown cruise that sails towards it and back is to take Staten Island Ferry (free and runs every 20 minutes) which will bring you relatively close by for decent photos.

OMG Shamik! Thank you so much for this super complete guide! I like the part when I got pretty drunk haha Let's see if I can make it to Dollar Pizza.

And as for the accommodation, I'll try the areas you've mentioned.

you can sleep in the airport for a layover - but if you are here for 3 days - why dont you want to see NYC - unless you have seen it too many times before?

Shamik - you are definitely not from Mnhattan - it is Washington Sq Park at 5th Ave - 5th ave is the division for east and west so the park is equally claimed by east and west - but probably a little more West than east! Moma is pay as you wish on Friday nights like the Morgan and Whitney and Rubin - and the Jewish museum on Sat or other museums on other days. you might want to ask CS hosts if they are available - because 20 and under is not likely any other way!

given you have internet access - you can find out a lot about what to do - there is also the skint for free events.
