Hi! I am looking for a nice place to live for 9 months in Newcastle (Oct2017-June2018) ? Any advice?

Ideally, I am looking for a room in a shared flat, because I think it is the best way to live. Since I know nothing about Newcastle, any advice / information about the cool neighborhoods, websites where I can find information about roommates wanted, or even friends you know that are looking for someone is welcome !

I'm 25, french-speaking, finishing studies in History and Philosophy and a social worker with teenagers beside my studies. I am an active person, always motivated to go around, do sports, meet new people, and not complicated for living at all.

If you need an accommodation for few days (meanwhile you look for it ) I have friends that have spare rooms. Ill just suggest a place to visit as I dont know of a house/flat you can stay... Winter Gardens, above it an art centre, in Sunderland a metro journey away. What else, you can visit Sage Gateshead for music. I travel to France-Spain this week but hey...enjoy cold winter in UK! :P

Hey!

If you're studying then Heaton would probably be a good fit as that's a very student friendly neighbourhood and close to various transport links. As mentioned above, spareroom is a good site, I haven't used it personally but friends have successfully.

I live in a shared house (two full-time workers, a student and a Labrador!) outside Walker and we have a spare room, the only problem is it's currently unfurnished and it isn't as well placed transport wise as some other neighbourhoods. Because of that rent is a bit cheaper it would work out around £200/month inc bills.

HI,

Another idea may be to look at Gateshead for a room share on gumtree, Gateshead will be a little cheaper than Newcastle central and within walking/cycling distance to town about 30 minutes walk 10 on a bike. There are also metro a few stops if it was raining.
