it is possible but we are in winter now. If there is snow the roads will be closed by safety. It did snow yesterday. Best regards

Hola, si es posible visitar El Calafate en agosto . El clima es muy variado, puede nevar y al instante salir el sol. Las rutas pueden estar escarchadas, y también siguen saliendo colectivos. Si va en avión no creo que tenga inconvenientes. Tiene varios hoteles, hosteles y un camping, siempre hay disponibilidad. Y si visitas El Calafate, te recomiendo que viajes a El Chalten, un pueblo entre montañas ubicado a 230 km, es la capital nacional del trekking, donde encontrarás paisajes increíbles! Que disfrutes tu viaje en La Patagonia!

Hello , if possible visit El Calafate in August. The climate is very varied , it can snow and instantly sunrise. Routes can be crystallized , and also keep coming groups. If you go by plane I do not think it has drawbacks. It has several hotels , hostels and camping, Always Faithful availability . And if you visit El Calafate , I recommend traveling to El Chalten , a village between mountains located 230 km, it is the national capital of trekking where you will find incredible scenery ! You enjoy your trip in Patagonia !
