Any recommened restaurants and bars?
Hi! I'm japanese but coming from Jakarta. I'll be in Manila for a week. Are there any good, cheap but awesome tasting restaurants or street food?
This is my first time to visit Manila. I'm glad if i can get any tips. Thanks :)

Hi Yohei! Yeah, definitely there is! Try to have a taste in Maginhawa Street, Quezon City. There are a lot of foods (whether Japanese, Chinese, Korean, English and of course Filipino cuisine to choose from) that is really affordable and tasty! Have a nice stay here in the PH! =))

Compared to Indonesia, I think Filipino food is more expensive. Maginhawa is a good place but if you eat fastfood I guess you should try Jollibee to see how the masses like their burgers and fried chicken. And of course you need to try balut.
well, being foreigner in Manila you might be disappointed since the food is not really good and it is quite expensive, at least this is my experience
Based on where you are staying, I can say that the food could be expensive. Makati is a high-end place. We have lots of different foods here and the regular price ranges from 2 USD to 5 USD. Great food ranges from 6 to 20 USD.
That's because your experience is limited only in the Makati City Area, which is High-End by the way..... Try Quezon City, like in Maginhawa Street, in Diliman, Quezon City, near the University of the Philippines (U.P.), it is a FOOD HAVEN Street, but not expensive.
Cubao X is a much cool place to hang out and have some cheap food. Plus, the enclave is more interesting with interesting shops.
It is difficult to find good, cheap meals. The cheap stuff is greasy, overloaded with salt, etc. You need to go to a good restaurant or a friend's home for a chance of a decent meal. When we have foreign guests, either we cook for them or we take them to Abe's but the place is not cheap.

What’s at A Venue? Overpriced frozen food.
Konichiwa Yohei! 😊 oide, will bring you to some foodie places you want around manila.
hey! Who's free tomorrow for some drinks? :)
if you want authentic Filipino food, you can try restaurants dubbed as Dampa. There are many dampa restaurants in Manila such as in Libis, Farmer's MArket, Macapagal, and Timog. In Dampa Restaurants, you will have to visit a small wet market first and buy the stuff you want to eat. There is a luxury of choices from fish, to seafoods, fruits, pork, or chicken. Then you will have to give them to the "cooks" and specify how you want them to be cooked.
Seafood Island. Try their boodle feast. :-)
