Hi guys, my name is Juan Camilo i am from cali colombia and I am moving to Santa monica for an intership in a design studio. I have been looking on craigstlist and roomster but couldn't get anything there. I just need a place for my arriving, so i can go out in search of a room or something for a more long term, but if you could give me a long term it would be great, my budget is $700 (maximum) utilities included. Santa Monica is a beach city so rent is very expensive there unless you are one of the lucky ones living in rent-control buildings. Because the Expo line will take you to Santa Monica you will be better off renting a place in Korea town (K-town) and taking the metro to Santa Monica. Look up your options in one of the FB groups, such as this one https://www.facebook.com/groups/164145803709877/

Agree with Anna that you are not going to find anything in Santa Monica for $700 including utes. I would also reccomend going east.

Koreatown though does not have a metro that goes to Santa Monica without transferring downtown. Koreatown also is too expensive for your budget.

You should try to find a place in Jefferson heights, West Adams, Crenshaw, or near USC as that is along the Expo line that goes from Downtown LA to Santa Monica. It will be tough to find $700 or less, but if you find a shared home you might be able to find a room for that.
