Does anyone know good climbing gym around sunnyvale and one whihc is cheaper too. i recently moved and would like to start my climbing :-).. Anyone interested join ?..

I've also been to Planet Granite and it's pretty awesome. You can also try the Meetup Group "Get Your Climb On" (GYCO) San Francisco, CA. It's for rock climbing and outdoor enthusiasts for all levels. I'd be interested in joining you sometime.

There's also the Studio downtown San Jose. I've never been there but I've heard good things about it. I climb at Planet Granite because the location is more convenient for me and also because I like being able to go to SF and climb at the Planet Granite overlooking the water and the city at Crissy Fields. Planet Granite is AWESOME!

I think a couple of people have already mentioned this. Planet Granite is a pretty cool place .. they have a bunch of tough climbs . You can rent your gear if you dont have any & .. if you dont have a belay partner - just let them know at the reception upfront. They'll find one for you.

+1 on planet granite. It has great bouldering area, top rope, and lead. Plus bunch of yoga classes and other stuff. I am getting back in to it after a few months hiatus, busy plus traveling, so if anyone wants a climbing partner hit me up! I used to climb low 11s. Now probably 10s. :-(

If price is the #1 concern I would actually look at Peak of Fremont which is a bit cheaper than Planet Granite

ca c'est la vrai "411" , Allez-vous en (a la REI, grande magazine de Climbing, etant donner que ca change aussi vite ici, a Silicon Valley, IL y faut d'aller dans le mejor magazine d'expedition, et c'est surment, REI (off Whipple AVE). Aussii, la climbing gym, c'est pas de vraiment pour le vrai Alpinist montainarde, parce-que cette saison cette la mejor annee depuis Jesus Christ, de faire de gramper dans le Cascade Glasse. Mother Fucking GREAT !!
