How can I move around DC?

I m visiting DC from 14 to 16 of January, how do you recommend I move around? What WMATA card should I buy? is a One Day Pass $14.50 ok? I will be studying there with a fulbright scholarship, can I get any special fare because of being student? Thank you so much!

in dc you use the metro you get a card that you load money onto in a machine in the station,and add money to it when it gets low. it' probably cheaper to pay as you go rather then the one day card (price sounds too high)

DC is a very easy place to get around: walking, jogging, biking (your own or you can get a bike for 1/2 hour periods throughout the DC area, subway (Metro train or bus), daily car rentals, taxi, uber, lyft, etc.

El metro te cobra por distancia además que si es en horas pico es más caro. En bus tenes derecho a hacer transferencia en un lapso de 2 horas si recargo. Por otro lado están las apps de Uber y Lyft si las descargas por primera vez te dan $20 de crédito eso ya te sirve para algo. Finalmente si en algo te puedo colaborar me escribis un mensaje y veo como te ayudo si en mis posibilidades esta. Saludos

I think the day pass probably is right it only means that you can walk around to make up the difference. DC walking is pretty easy.

The worst time to visit! It's too cold! other than that it's a pretty place use metro or walk bike or tour buses.

The best and convenient way to be via metro transit or uber. Pretty much ever attraction is metro accessible.
