La Notte della Taranta is Italy's largest folk music festival and one of Europe's most significant events dedicated to traditional culture, specifically the Salentine 'pizzica'. The festival features a series of traveling performances across the Salento region, culminating in the massive 'Concertone' in Melpignano where traditional rhythms are fused with contemporary musical languages under the direction of a Maestro Concertatore.
