CANโ€™T HOST IN BEIJING UNTIL Oct. 2026 coz Iโ€™m traveling myself, Iโ€™m sorry but if I get a request for any dates before that, then I know you didnโ€™t read my profile and I donโ€™t want to waste my time to reply you. Born and raised in Beijing, studied marine science in Australia and now Coastal science and policy at Santa Cruz, U.S. Have worked for many ocean conservation NGOs in China and other countries. Focusing on studying the impact of industrial fisheries on local communities in West Africa. Trying to live more sustainably ;) following 3R principles. Enjoy working out in the gym or jogging/hiking at new places. Love the oceans, always down to scuba diving or snorkeling in different waters. Protect our oceans! Climate change is real!

Made in Germany, studied in France, worked and studied in China. Curious about anything 'China' (traveled every corner of the country). I never miss an opportunity to surf some couches when traveling! It's the salt of my travel soup! Couchsurfing reassures my faith in humanity (well, somewhat at least...). When I can't travel myself, I love hosting people. Drop me a line when you're in town ;) Always up for a beer/meal/hike!

Hello! Iโ€™m an open-minded and friendly person, always excited to share my hometown, Beijing, with others. I enjoy introducing visitors to the local food and places that mean a lot to me, like Houhai and the city center. Youโ€™re welcome to stay at my place, and Iโ€™ll be happy to offer you some traditional Beijing dishesโ€”either cooked by my family or myself, depending on whatโ€™s convenient at the time. I spent 90 days Couchsurfing in Europe, which was a truly memorable experience, and I met some amazing people. I hope we can have some cultural exchanges during your stay and enjoy exploring the city together. I grew up in Beijing and have witnessed the cityโ€™s transformationโ€”its chaos, warmth, orderliness, and coldness. From living in the hutongs as a child, I watched it step by step grow into a massive metropolis. I have a deep understanding of local culture and am passionate about sharing it with anyone unfamiliar with it. I love my hometown. Iโ€™m familiar with the underground culture, subcultures, queer communities, and all the underground clubs in both Beijing and Shanghai. If youโ€™re curious, we can explore them together. I also love exploring food, and Iโ€™ve been indulging in all kinds of cuisines across Europe. Iโ€™m very open to trying dishes from all over the world.

I do not accept last minute or low effort requests. If you are like that, let me refer you to booking.com. People from other countries describe me as a typical Dutch guy, both in manners (directness) as in physical appearance (tall and blonde). I am polite and usually calm, but perhaps a bit reserved.
