CURRENT MISSION Do I have a mission? Be happy and stay healthy - hardest thing ever... ABOUT ME I prefer to host women or couples for safety reasons. However, if you happen to be male and send me a really convincing message, I might consider hosting you. It depends really... If you just want a free place to crash so you can save money on a hostel or pick up somebody, please look somewhere else. PHILOSOPHY I don't want to wake up one day, discover I'm seventy years old, look back and find that I haven't lived my life. So let's go for it and have fun wherever possible!
Hey! I'm Nick 👋 Married to a wonderful Polish woman 🇵🇱 Originally from India, studied at MIT in Boston for more than 2 years, and somehow ended up in Switzerland. Zero complaints so far. I run my own company that is about business consultancy. I've lived in 9 countries and travelled to 35+, from a year in the Himalayas to months in Bali and Patagonia. I love couchsurfing as a concept and have been using it for more than a decade for both surfing and hosting 🌍 Big on socializing, sports, hiking, cycling, badminton... and plot twist: I genuinely love going to bed on time and waking up early. Adventurous AND boring. It's called balance 😴☀️ Always up for meeting new people and saying yes to new experiences! NOTE: to people who requesting to stay with us in Basel. We live on the 4th floor of a building without an elevator. If you have heavy bags, it will be like a little work-out dragging baggage up and down.

Hi there! So nice that you have found the way to my profile. =) My name's Florian and I'm from Basel, Switzerland. I'm a friendly and calm contemporary who likes to travel and meet new people. I'm currently working as a teacher while also terminating my teaching diploma. Apart from that, I like museums, hiking, and reading. I'm a good conversationalist and I feel secure and open to discuss a big variety of different topics. And I'm always eager to learn something new in areas where I have no prior knowledge. Share your wisdom with me! The deeper the conversation, the better it is. :-) I'm a very open and kind-hearted dude. Whoever you are, wherever you're from and whatever you've done in your life, I won't judge you. It's a natural part of the human experience to feel a bit afraid in front of strangers, but I can guarantee you: I'm like that one brother/ cousin/ friend to whom you can tell anything. But very important note: it's more than OK to not share all your secrets. Privacy is an essential right. I'm not queer myself, but LGBTQIA+ people are always safe and welcome at my place. The same goes for women - CS is not a dating platform! People from every nationality of our fascinating world are welcome, too, even for the case that you should be an extraterrestrial being. ;)

I support clinical research by day; outside work, I can be found coaching ultimate, learning to DJ, researching my historical novel, cooking Indian food, practicing djembe, riding/fixing bikes, daydreaming about the Boathouse, or spending time with my daughters.

A Ukrainian🇺🇦 that lives in Switzerland🇨🇭 during the war. An active and adventurous girl. I love independent travel, photography, meaningful conversations and discovering how people live in different parts of the world. I’ve hitchhiked over 46,000 km across many countries and believe that the best part of travelling is meeting locals and sharing experiences. Current mission: to visit as many countries as possible and to create nice memories.
Je m’appelle Louis, je voyage actuellement pendant 4 semaines en Arménie. Je suis toujours ouvert pour tout!! N’hésitez pas. My name is Louis, and I’m currently travelling around Armenia for four weeks. I’m always up for anything!! Don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Hey, my name is David! I am a Portuguese architect, a musician and a wanderer living in Switzerland. I enjoy traveling and I am always up for an adventure. So far, I've tried to visit the biggest amount of places I was able to and I've found no disappointment on my quest! I love to learn from other people. There is always someone who is a great storyteller, someone who can bring some joy to your day!
Quick Update, I no longer live in basel but in a small town close to Mulhouse-France which is best accessible by car. Basel is a 18-20 min drive. Hey all of you in the community ... I’ve been on Couchsurfing since more than 10 years and just amazing memories and met really nice and cool people. I'm just a down to earth guy who has fun in knowing other people, sharing culture, debates but amongst all board or card games. As a student, I used my free time to visit and explore new places, but it’s currently /completely different and not easy with a full-time job. But still eager to meet new people, learn and keep growing and want to host more. Feel free to reach out whenever in the beautiful mountain regions of Switzerland in Wallis.
*** Last Minute requests possible *** Join me for Swing dancing Hi fellow couchsurfers, I am a frequent traveller and therefore had awesome experiences with couchsurfing. I am a biological scientist doing now a lot of Computational Biology and experiments. I like Lindy Hop dancing, beer and electronic music. I am a calm person but I never reject a beer or a great party. I have hosted many times in Bern, Zürich and Basel and always enjoyed to have the whole world in my flat. The following points help you to get hosted: - You have a story to tell - You appreciate a (good) beer and some political chat about your country - You have read the My Home section of my profile - Have fun ;) See you soon Peter
