Soy un lingรผista mexicano al que tambiรฉn le gusta aprender idiomas y hablar sobre ellos. He estudiado como 12 idiomas, pero sรณlo tengo fluidez en 4; el resto los sigo desarrollando. Me fascinan la fonรฉtica, el cambio lingรผรญstico, las variaciones dialectales, y todo lo relacionado con la lingรผรญstica; tambiรฉn me gustan mucho la mรบsica, los juegos de mesa y de video, los animales (gatos y perros), la geografรญa, la cerveza artesanal, la fiesta, las montaรฑas y los volcanes (senderismo), y estar en casa y no hacer nada/dormir. Escuchar y descubrir mรบsica es una de mis pasiones. Los gรฉneros que mรกs escucho son rock progresivo (italiano, andaluz, turco, inglรฉs, alemรกn, sudamericano, mexicano y sueco), City Pop japonรฉs, Synth-pop francรฉs, bandas sonoras de videojuegos, y subgรฉneros variados del rock y el pop, sobre todo de los 70's. ENGLISH I am a language lover. I love learning and discussing languages. I am a professional linguist and translator. I can have long conversations about phonetics, language change, music, board games and many other topics. I love talking about people's passions (even if I don't know anything about them). I also love music (progressive rock) and have a small vinyl records collection. I really enjoy playing video-games.
Mathematician, happy programmer, passionate mountaineer. I love learning, teaching and sharing. I make stuff out of leather and fabric and bike a lot everywhere I go. I'm the kind of person that listens more than he talks. Mostly introvert I guess? Until I get comfortable and then I can talk like a normal person (: I enjoy food a lot so I rate places by how good their food was and of course how nice the place is. I also enjoy cooking and sharing what I cook. I have knowledge in bicycle mechanics (I have assembled and helped assemble a handful of bikes for friends) so if you have a bike and you think it squeaks more than it should I can probably take a look at it ;)
CURRENT MISSION Back in Mexico and loving it. Currently based in Xalapa, Veracruz. ABOUT ME I quit my job in 2013 to embark on a trip of my lifetime. I finally ended up in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mรฉxico where I've been living since 2020. My trip in a nutshell: Spent 3 years in Latin America (backpacking a year in South America, 6 months on a sailboat in the Caribbean, 8 months living in Costa Rica and 5 months in Panama), and then another 2 years in India and South East Asia, then back to Mexico for most of 2019. I did a brief trip around Europe / Turkey / Oman, and then COVID hit. Now, I'm back in Mexico (pais de mi corazon!). I guess I should say a bit more about what I'm like as a person - I'm always up for an adventure. I love trying new things, meeting new people, learning about new traditions, cultures, lifestyles etc. I am a big foodie and love cooking and eating - if you do too, we'll get alone excellently! The world is our playground, let's PLAY! PHILOSOPHY The aim of life is to be happy, and I'm gonna be happy, or die trying!
