"I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be." - Douglas Adams ABOUT ME We (that is me, Nico, my wife Renate and our two sons Noah (19) and Amon (18) and our 2 cats) are a small and crazy family that is addicted to travel. Nico is working for a Japanese company in Duesseldorf as a manager for spare parts sales and Renate is a tutor / coach. And of course we are both full-time parents... Nico spent 3 weeks on the Camino de Santiago, Spain and Renate was travelling for 70 days alone (during her 4th to 6th month of pregnancy with Noah) - only with a backpack in Thailand, Myanmar/Burma and India from May, 3rd to July, 11th 2006. Our two boys were both preemies (Noah 10 weeks and Amon 5 weeks early-born) and we wanted to avoid any handicaps. So we decided to travel and show them the world. While doing this we wanted to give them a big base on which they can build on. We started our world trip on 21. September 2011 in the USA, followed Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Chile, New Zealand , Australia, China and returned on 01. August 2012. It was a great journey and fantastic to see how our kids grow and learn. After this we made several trips throughout Europe (Germany, England, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Egypt,...) to show our kids places far beyond our narrow hometown. These trips were a real big experience for us which made us more self-contained.

CURRENT Mission Opening my own psychotherapeutic practice ABOUT Me I was ordained as a Buddhist monk at 13 and spent 10 years as a monastic before deciding to disrobe. Since then, I’ve embarked on transformative journeys, traveling through Germany, Mexico, the USA, Canada, and Norway without money or fixed destinations. I’ve walked the 88-Temple Shikoku Pilgrimage in Japan and the Camino de Santiago (900 km) in Spain and France. These experiences, along with incredible encounters through Couchsurfing, have profoundly shaped me. Academically, I hold a diploma from the Buddhist Pali University of Sri Lanka, a B.Sc. in Psychology and Neuroscience (Maastricht University), and an M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology (Groningen University).I completed a clinical apprenticeship in psychotherapy and another master's in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology at the University of Bern. We are Anya and Robert If you want to stay with us just send a nice and personal message and it helps if you state why you want to stay with us in particular :) Not accepting any requests more than a month ahead. And it would be great to be able to actually spend some time together, so for only a night is not preferred. And if you give a mass mail we might just decline. Both of us are kind of addicted to travelling, adventures and maybe hitchhiking or hiking itself. Getting in touch with people you won’t meet in your normal everyday life, learning about other cuisines, cultures and mindsets is pretty important to us. You never stop learning.
