Just returned from a 6-month trip in Latin America and Europe, and we can’t wait to host again (June 2025)! We live in a charming rowhouse in Charles Village (a neighborhood in north central Baltimore) with our daughters (born Nov. 2013 and March 2015), and we have frequent guests (grandparent, friends, and Couchsurfers). Max is a family physician and Maya runs an urban specialty flower farm. We are passionate about the outdoors and the environment, social justice, crafting, food (growing, cooking, eating, and talking about it), cycling, hiking, camping, and community. We look forward to sharing these passions with you sometime soon. Our home is friendly towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and we expect our guests to be too.
soy sociólogo de profesión, interés por la Literatura, culturas, cine y música. I am a sociologist by profession, interested in Literature, cultures, cinema and music.
CURRENT MISSION Looking for people to inspire me. ABOUT ME I'm an artist always looking for inspiration. I love to travel and experience new places, people, art and FOOD! Single gay guy.
PLEASE READ: I prefer to host musicians, artists, writers who are in their late 20s and older. Not so interested in hosting college students. I prefer to host visiting musicians, artists and writers, but if you are interesting, educated and a good conversationalist, I'm all for it. CURRENT MISSION In 2018, I made the big move back to my hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. Though living 38 years in diverse New York City, I wish to experience other cultures on their home turfs. ABOUT ME I am a poet and global music collector, DJ and more recently a producer, creating tracks combining dance music and film music. Working on next book of poetry; collecting world music and DJ'ing it regularly; traveling (most recently to western France and Yucatan, Mexico). How I make my living: I own a consulting business in the areas of advanced 3D audio for museums and architectural spaces, as well as art consultation. Music: https://soundcloud.com/poodiecannon https://www.mixcloud.com/poodlecannon/ Work: http://www.poodlecannon.com Living in the bustle of Brooklyn, New York, I am surrounded by art and music, and try to enjoy every moment of it, but sometimes one must escape the noise and over-stimulation in favor of the natural world (unless Central Park counts). PHILOSOPHY My philosophy to explore something every day, whether it be in the mind, or in outer space somewhere. I'm very focused on creative work and discovery. I am also devoted to family and friends, who I consider to be lifelong commitments.

Orthopaedic surgery fellow 👨⚕️ | Curious traveler ⛺️ | Food & culture lover 🍜🍕 Hi! I’m Amir, an orthopaedic surgery fellow, currently living in Baltimore, originally from Tehran. I genuinely enjoy meeting people from different cultures and learning how they see the world. I’m into good food (especially trying local spots), wandering new cities, documentaries, fantasy and horror movies, and long conversations about life, and everything in between. I’m easygoing, respectful, and low-maintenance as a guest. I usually spend most of my time exploring and just need a calm place to recharge at the end of the day. I’ve lived in different environments and really value kindness, mutual respect, and good energy. For me, Couchsurfing isn’t just about a place to sleep, it’s about connection, shared moments, and experiencing a city through a local’s eyes. IG @amirhuman_hoveidaei
CURRENT MISSION To carry on and celebrate the age-old tradition of offering hospitality to travelers! ABOUT ME Please be verified in at least two ways before you request me to host. Also, please read my profile and say something about why you are requesting to stay with me. Couch Surfing is about meeting people, not just a free place to crash. I don't always have a lot of time to show folks around but I always enjoy getting to know each other a little and exchanging stories. Both my parents immigrated to the US so I've always felt a bit like an outsider. I resonate with others who have moved to new and unfamiliar places and with travelers, though I haven't done anywhere near as much traveling as I wish. My fantasy is to travel around the world to coincide with the ripening of local fruits, ones you cannot eat anywhere except where they grow. I like meeting new people and making them feel at home and I find myself spending lots of time alone. Often because I can't find anyone to do the stuff I like to do. I like exploring and finding my way around new places, with and without a map. I like just watching people or nature. PHILOSOPHY I do not believe in fate or controlling my reality. I believe that we have very little control over what happens TO us, but A LOT of choices how to respond... in other words s*** happens but I get to make it interesting! In the midst of painful, unwelcome or scary experiences I try to remember that later on I will have a great story to tell! I have much gratitude for my body, brain & spirit, try to be open to experiences, joyful, painful or puzzling. I believe that connecting with people and nature is central to well-being.
