Former online ESL teacher and teacher in Taiwan and Yunnan, artist, writer, and avid learner of everything. I'm usually living in Yunnan Province, China. I visited Hanoi and Chiangmai in 2019. In 2020 I stayed in Bangkok during lockdown, then lived in Ao Nang, Krabi. After that was Indonesia; first Papua, then Bali and Lombok. I returned to Thailand and stayed in Chiang Mai for a while, then moved to Lijiang and taught elementary school. Last year I co-founded an interior design company in Kunming, and am working on a project that will invite artists from around the world to live and do their work in China.
I really dig human nature. I can read Spanish better than I can understand it spoken to me or speak it. I guess literacy counts for something. I just added all the Romance languages to the languages I’m learning because to varying degrees of proficiency, Latin’s a dead language!!! but should not be cut altogether and not getting the girl. Sort of. If you don’t get the reference you should stop right there! In the USA, it’s hard to know for sure. DISCLAIMER: I’m not a fan of essentially having my living room taken over for several times. Please think to keep me updated as to when I should expect to let you in. I rather leave no reference at all when I disliked an experience than leave a bad one. Also before you call rather than text, just don’t. I may generally enjoy the company of the opposite cis-gender, but I’m not a bigot. Meh, the general difference in gender when we discuss “normal” cis births... As Randall Monroe would probably draw a silly cartoon that may or may not be the truth, but [citation needed]. TL... I couldn’t even write it out. Meh. Um, I guess I have no references I’d that I did it the old school way when I was growing up. LOL This in a sense means that I used Craigslist once to satisfy my needs. For better or for worse. He may have been a Communist and there’s this long story about how small Boston/Earth really is... TLDR Read all about it in the female Asian-American response to Portnoy’s Complaint. Not everyone needs to try to pull a fast one with “essays” like David Sedaris; so gimme a couple of decades. Is that amenable to you?
Current Mission: Read books. Walk dogs. Subvert fascism. ABOUT US: A couple of avid Karaoke enthusiasts/book lovers looking to travel and meet interesting people all over the world. Moved from America to Turkey in August 2011 so we could explore all over. Patrick was a high school teacher at a boarding school and Eileen worked at an organization for education policy research in Turkey. In 2014 we moved back to the good 'ol US of A so we could move forward in our careers. We're really social and love to laugh, so our favorite pastime is usually hanging out with friends, anytime anywhere. We love our dog, Tootsie, so dog lovers are especially welcome to come stay with us.

I am very chill, kind, compassionate, quiet yet social, respectful, tolerant. Politically I lean Marxist, spiritually I lean Buddhist. I am a former peace activist and educator. I believe that as a human being, it is my responsibility to act in opposition to oppression and injustice. You must be at least 25 years old to stay at my house. I prefer to host guests who embody the Couchsurfing spirit. I have hosted over 20 guests of various age, gender, and ethnicity, some traveling solo and some with a mate. Almost all have been great guests and wonderful people with whom I have hung out, had great conversations, shared meals, gone to concerts, and learned from. I give my guest(s) my bedroom and I sleep on the couch. Bedroom is on the second floor and bathroom is on the first floor (which can be an issue for some). My house is small but cozy and comfortable, built in 1880, in a great neighborhood called Jamaica Plain that is very LGBTQ+ friendly. It is safe and easily accessible to the city center via public transit. There are cafes and restaurants close by as well as lots of green space. I worked most of my life in the education field, primarily doing research. I am now training to become a peer addiction recovery coach and I work part-time in the field. I am humble and grateful. I practice service to others, including as a foster parent of an 18-year-old Dominican boy. I am a member of a local peer recovery support center (I am sober) where I facilitate a weekly Buddhist addiction recovery meeting.
CURRENT MISSION I think couch surfing is a great way to get to know a city and learn the good place to go and see. And meet up a new friends. Instagram: mustapha_akchbab
CURRENT MISSION **be happy** still working on the ways to achieve it ABOUT ME Hi all, I have been living in Boston for the past ~12 years, and for the past 6-7 years have been running a research laboratory as a professor at Harvard Medical School. My research work is mainly focused on trying to figure out the unknowns of how our hearing works and how to fix it when it doesn't. I am certainly working more than I should, which worries me a bit. To change that, I have joined this network of amazing people in a hope to do more interesting things in my life, and meet new people. I have high hopes and somewhat ambitious travel plans for the nearest future. If asked my friends, they would say that I am fairly smart in my own way, easy going, hospitable, like to have fun and sometimes boring (so, please stop me if I am :) PHILOSOPHY Do your best everywhere! Work 100% when working and rest 100% when resting.
Originally from Italy and now living in Boston, I work at MIT Sloan and have a passion for travel, meaningful conversations, and discovering places through the eyes of locals. I’ve lived in Verona, Padova, Budapest, Manhattan, Chicago, and now Boston. I’ve traveled extensively across Europe and the United States, as well as Japan, Argentina, Australia, Mexico, Canada, and, most recently, Vietnam. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures over coffee, a walk, good food, or a shared adventure. I believe the best part of traveling isn’t checking off landmarks but the people you meet along the way and their amazing stories.
Moved to the U.S. for my education a decade ago, and now split my life between downtown Boston and other places for work. Happy to host people wherever I go. I build new business models for a living and currently lead innovation at a solar energy technologies company that hopes to save the world (hence my mild obsession with the environment). I love adventures, the occasional harmless pranks, and sometimes stopping to marvel at how strange, occasionally beautiful, humans can be.
Hello! I'm Belkaid, an AI engineer with a passion for innovation and technology. I'm currently enrolled in a PhD program, which keeps me busy but also incredibly inspired. Originally from the vibrant city of Casablanca, Morocco, I now call the beautiful south of Italy my home. In my free time, I enjoy long walks, making new connections, and spending quality time with friends and family. I'm an avid reader, always eager to dive into a good book or the latest scientific papers. Staying active is important to me, so you'll often find me at the gym. Looking forward to meeting fellow travelers and sharing great conversations! 🌍
"Life is like riding a bicycle; To keep your balance you must keep moving." -ALBERT EINSTEIN" For years, I traveled around the world helping those in need for my foundation . Currently living in Boston after traveling and living abroad for 20+ years, so I am happy to finally call someplace home, but I still love revisiting favorite places, exploring new destinations and meeting fellow travelers.
I can't host, I'm traveling. First and foremost, I'm a single mother. Born in Laos came to the States in my teen-ish. I've lived in Boston for over 30 years but don't really have an address as of now. I want to travel as much as I can while I'm still alive! But, I am keeping an eye out for a city to call home ☺ Now that my kids are older I get to do what I love - travel. I haven't host much because I've been on the road. Overall, I'm easy going, respectful, adventurous, optimist, love the outdoors, beach, good sense of humor, easy to get along with, have a curiosity about people. I have more references on my first profile under Keo Ratt. https://couchsurfing.page.link/hsBxWXytX3ser7Sd7 Instagram: keo_ratt
