I apologize in advance but unless you have several host references, I may not be comfortable hosting you. —- I live in downtown San Jose. Come visit! CURRENT MISSION Live life authentically - share joy and love. ABOUT ME I have many hobbies. I like gardening, adventuring, eating, making new friends, and playing games that nurture my inner 9 year-old (while helping raise my 9 year old). PHILOSOPHY Live and let live. Life is too short not to enjoy it. (This includes eating sweets - my weakness.)

In 2012, I hosted a person that was hitchhiking across the US. She subsequently went on to travel the world, visiting 40 countries and after getting married to an American ex-pat in Australia and living there for awhile, she is back in the US. Anyway, she introduced the idea of couchsurfing to me, and although I joined in 2012, I did not do any couchsurfing. In May 2025, I finally got to try couchsurfing, and it was amazing! My new cs brothers hosted me in Amsterdam, Madrid and Lisbon, and I was inspired by their hospitality and generosity. A few things about me: I am open, honest, curious, non-judgmental and like to laugh. I am a 3rd generation Japanese American, retired semiconductor process engineer. I enjoy cooking, gardening, volunteering, reading, traveling, and the outdoors - whether walking, hiking, camping or backpacking. Because I like to cook, if you stay with me as a guest, I would like to share at least one meal with you. So to check to see if you have read my profile, please let me know in your request if you have any food restrictions. I am excited to join this community and create more lasting memories with some new friends.

Woah, it's been so long since I used this site. I used to be interesting, back when I was a student. Now I'm just a regular working dude. 2023 description: I'm kind of a hippie mixed with an adrenaline junkie mixed with a nerd. I'm curious about nearly everything, although I often come off as quiet and shy (definitely not a party guy). I love any activity that involves spending time in nature. I just graduated from studying sustainable energy engineering (solar PV) at NTNU (Trondheim, Norway) and now finished a post-graduate internship in Taiwan (Hualien) in silicon solar cells.
