AHUL! I've been pretty unactive in a few years due to different reasons. Now I'm back on track! Take your time to read my profile. I know what you're about to read may sound strict or even unwelcoming. It isn't meant to be. Unfortunately, our islands and the people who live here are facing very real challenges, and I believe it's important to make them visible. If this resonates with you, I'm sure we'll have a great experience together. Please don't come expecting a stereotypical "Spanish experience". The Canary Islands are much more than that, and many of us don't identify with those clichés. Come with curiosity, an open mind, and respect for our own culture and history. If you are looking for the "Spanish experience" I'm not your host. We are a colonized place where massive tourism is killing our land and impoverishing its inhabitants. I kindly ask my guests to be respectful of our territory, follow the rules of our protected natural areas, and, whenever possible, support local businesses owned by island residents rather than large international chains. Small choices make a real difference. I'd love to share my home with people who travel with curiosity, respect, and a genuine interest in supporting the local community. The 90% of male guests I've had, were straight. I think they survived the experience, Don't be afraid! See references below! LOL Our islands are being sold to outsiders with the help of our politicians. We are forced to believe that tourism is the future but statistics show a very different story. Please avoid platforms like Airbnb whenever possible, as they contribute to making housing more expensive and less accessible for many Canarians. Salaries here are way to low. Help locals and not foreign residents who came to make money destroying our land and worshipping the tourism by using locals in their advantage working in touristic shops that WE DON'T NEED. ;-) Thanks! :P
