Hi, I’m Chad Cupido – and yes, that really is my family name. I’m a global citizen, wellness advocate, and conscious entrepreneur. I currently serve as Executive Officer at Beauty Without Cruelty South Africa, one of the most established animal rights organizations on the continent. I also founded Omni Wellness Media, where I create media that educates, uplifts, and inspires. With roots in journalism, education, yoga, and advocacy, I’ve traveled the world studying, teaching, and building partnerships in the name of sustainability, wellness, and justice. I’m currently completing a PhD in Sociology, and I’m passionate about bringing together people, ideas, and heart-led action. Above all, I’m just someone who loves learning, connecting, and living fully with purpose. Why I’m on Couchsurfing To me, this platform is about much more than a place to sleep. It’s about meaningful exchange, culture, laughter, learning, and shared humanity. Traveling has taught me that you don’t really know a place until you’ve shared a table, walked its streets with someone who calls it home, or talked about life in the early hours. I’m here for all of that. I love hosting, being hosted, and forming long-lasting friendships wherever I go. Interests Yoga and meditation Ethical travel and conscious living Animal rights and sustainability Storytelling, podcasting, and media production Language, philosophy, and personal transformation Nature, hiking, fitness, and community wellness Thought-provoking books and meaningful films Music, Movies, and Books My music taste ranges from soul and jazz to melodic house and conscious beats. I love music that moves the spirit and brings people together. Books that have shaped me include "The Road Less Travelled", the works of Alan Watts, Eckhart Tolle, and anything that explores the deeper aspects of human nature and consciousness. Movies that touch the heart, challenge the mind, or make me laugh always stay with me. I tend to get emotionally involved with characters, which I see as a gift rather than a weakness. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done As a journalist, I once went undercover in a deeply impoverished part of Cape Town to expose systemic inequality. That experience opened my eyes, broke my heart, and deepened my commitment to service. It reminded me of our shared humanity, and how powerful storytelling can be when it’s used with integrity. Teach, Learn, Share I can teach yoga, guided meditation, creative writing, and podcast development. I’m always eager to learn about local customs, languages, spiritual practices, and social movements. I love sharing space, stories, laughter, plant-based meals, and ideas for a better world. What I Can Share with Hosts Help with English writing or editing Yoga and wellness sessions Knowledge about animal advocacy, sustainability, and global community-building Great conversation, a generous spirit, and support with anything you might need My global network for your future travels or collaborations Countries I’ve Visited Belgium, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey Countries I’ve Lived In Belgium, France, South Africa, Taiwan
