I'm a 20 year old student from the Portland area in Oregon, USA. I am a professional whitewater kayaker and enjoy getting out into nature as much as possible. I am also a filmmaker. I am currently taking some time off from school to take a trip to Europe and make a film about it.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I've slept on my fair share of couches and floors as a kayaker. Our community is one that will always open up their doors to others for a place to stay, as well as giving whatever food we can spare so that others will be fed. I've enjoyed many nights on strangers floors and couches, many free breakfasts and other hospitality. I love this aspect of community and I think that couch surfing embodies this spirit. I look forward to opening my house up to others and giving back a little for all the meals and couches I've bummed.
Music, Movies, and Books
Recently I've really gotten into Mac Demarco. I would say, however, that my music tastes are constantly evolving. I'm a big David Fincher, Tarantino, and Edgar Wright fan. I read quite a bit, particularly I am obsessed with Haruki Murakami. I've read 5 of his books in the last two months or so.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
When I was 17 I climbed Mt. Adams with my father. It was an incredible bonding trip for the two of us. I was not nearly in good enough shape to climb a 12,000 ft peak and it really tried my will power. But I did it.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I'd be happy to share share food and ideas with hosts. Particularly, I enjoy talking about books and film. I would love to have hosts take part in my film that I am currently working on. I plan to do a lot of filming while on my trip to Europe.
