Allo! My name's Maddie and I like lots of things including books, snow, vin chaud, ceramics, climbing, worms, hiking, coffee, playing piano, oatmeal, 3D printing, cheeks, Jane Austen, sometimes tea, boulders, falling down, Van Gogh, flying, large dogs, space, etc.. I'm sorry I have no idea what to put here. Anyway, I'm an undergraduate studying mechanical engineering at MIT and I really do enjoy all of the things listed above. To narrow it down a bit, I spend most of my free time outdoors hiking and/or climbing, but I also like challenging myself to see how many espressos I can consume at different locations on a given day. I don't know. Is this sufficient?

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I like exploiting my school for travel opportunities as frequently as I can, and this month landed me in Grenoble! I'm here for the month teaching students at MINATEC, but I'm trying to travel as much as possible on the weekends. Couchsurfing seems great because not only do I want to go out and meet new people and go new places, but I'm also pretty poor!!
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Interstellar, Hiroshima Mon Amour Music: My dog playing recorder Books: I'm illiterate unfortunately. But if I could read I'd probably really like Slaughterhouse Five, Harry Potter, Into the Wild, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice and a bunch of others. OH, I also just read Undersea Colonies by Dennis Chamberland. Crazy cool.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Spent a month in Belize practicing underwater conservation photography
