Trip Recommendations

Hey everybody, my boyfriend and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary and I want to take him to Switzerland. We love nature, culture and history. Could you give me recommendation where to go? And if you know a romantic restaurant that will be great:)

What part of Switzerland do you wanna go to? Around what time (month) do you plan to go? What type of culture/history do you like?

I'm planning to go the first week of december, I haven't choosed a city in particular, just looking at options. Museums, markets, nature spots, monuments

There's a chance you get some snow/rain during that time so keep in mind to find some activity inside. As Flurin mentioned around Interlaken its nice but also very touristic and hiking higher up around this time of the year is not recommended unless you know what your doing. I would still recommend you to go to bern, there's a lot of markets, monuments, ancient buildings, museums and our parliament. If the weather is right you can reach interlaken, valais, thun, lake neuchatel and zurich in around an hour by train and there's such a lot to see there aswell! :) Also for others that come during spring/summer/fall I would highly recommend "Ballenberg Open Air Museum" for nature, culture and history!

Definitely go to interlaken for about 3-5 days, adventure tourism, mountains and a lot of history is around here =)

I really like the Valais for nature in Switzerland.. Zermatt is really beautiful and awesome for hiking :-)

Hi, i would recommend the Appenzellerland (it is a region). It is very beautiful and idyllic. You can find there a lot of beautiful mountains, typical old swiss arcitecture and a lot of really typical swiss food. In the Town Appenzell itself you will find everything a tourists heart is looking for in switzerland. For sure Zurich is a interesting town, but also very famous and almost everyone knows it. I live just 20 Minutes away from Zurich. So if you need someone to show you some nice spots there, just contact me.
