CONTACT US if you are passionate cultural promoter or someone who wants to bring significant art project to real space!
Hi, My name is Yupica, I’m Japanese artist living and working in Mexico City. I apply my experiences of film making to art projects with variety of professionals. http://www.yupica.com We’ve been presented several museums and non-profit art spaces in Mexico. Now we are pursuing to move our projects to the next level in broader realm. Currently we are looking for someone who is willing to collaborate with us by pitching new proposal to art museums, festivals, grants, alternative events or building business strategy to monetize the project. We do large scale installations, art pieces such as photography, sculpture, video collage etc. We see our project with full of potencial opportunities, the only reason why our projects have some limitation is because there is no one who works on the public relation in our team. That's the reason why I’m writing this text to invite you to be a part of this projects to grow together and have lots of fun! We really believe that process of realizing art project and the experience of being in the installation/exposition are the art works it self.
If you are interested please write me at yupica.contacto(at)gmail.com
Thank you
NOTE: I’ll copy and past the text from our last year’s show.
Through practice -developed from the capabilities of video- Yupica’s work owns time as the matter of everyday realities. His multimedia production ranges from video-collage to video-sculpture, it combines organic elements, found objects and audiovisual technology to challenge pre-established routines from everyday life, where materials and objects are transformed to express new gestures that connect with the contemporary world and question its ritual functionalities.
Since 2001, his training as a filmmaker has taken him to make a series of short-films that had been featured and screened in different festivals in Tokio, Paris, New York, London, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, amongst others. After several years using filmmaking as his most significant medium, Yupica has transferred his work to the realm of contemporary art, where his moving images insert into the field of audiovisual production like a bridge between cinematic and plastic concepts.
In 2013, he founds the interdisciplinary collective called ChaMeshiJi that aims to create a dialog between current society and the cultural scene; his exhibitions have taken place in FIC, 2014; La Quiñonera, 2014; Casa del Lago, 2014 and 2015.
