Hey! if you are super newto surf, one smart thing is to join a surf school for the first days, there are many in matosinhos just by the beach. I know it doesn't look as cool as go surfing with the gang, but I tell you it's really worth it, cause they can correct you in one week mistakes you would normally do for years till someone notices that. cause when you go to surf with friends they are not looking at you all the time trying to help. well, maybe they are, it depends how good you look in a swimsuit. but in my case they weren't.

Went on a surf trip a few months ago and it's a totally different experience than doing it with friends.

I've no real interest in advertising the company itself, but had a real good experience with Fish Surf School (just google for them on facebook or any other social media). They're from Matosinhos by the way.

If you're keen, I'm part of an Erasmus association called ESN Porto. We have a surf school partner in Matosinhos and I regularly go there (also with some Erasmus). It's relatively cheap a lesson and you'll be in an international setting. Not sure if that's what you're looking but send me a pm if you're interested

There are some guys from university in Braga going there and provide the cloth and board along instruction with reasonable price. I surfed once but I'd like to go again if you are interested tell me
