Is it still possible to observe the authentic Maori culture and way of life? I need help for a personal project.

I’m coming to NZ to observe the authentic Maori culture and possibly their traditional way of life for my project Ephemera documentary (www.ephemera.life). I'd like to avoid museuls and shows and rather spend timewith locals. I will arrive on May 10 and spend a couple of days in Auckland before heading to the Rotorua region. Any advice?

Yes you just need to tap into some locals that have Maaori roots, as they maybe able to support you. I spend some time with my kindergarten children as a student teacher for Elstree. If you have facebook you could look at their page and message them and they maybe able to help or refer you to someone that can. Look up Apumoana Marea, lovely friendly people. Hope this is of a little help.
