Hello everyone, My name is Julia and I am looking for a room in a shared apartment in or around Santa Cruz from March to June 2019. I would highly appreciate if you could let me know if you hear of anything that might become available. During this period, I will be a visiting scholar at the UC Santa Cruz, researching how food and social movements can effectively impact policies. I am 26 and am currently doing my PhD in a research project in Oldenburg in Germany (I will still be employed during that time). In this project, we analyze seed initiatives such as seed sharing networks or plant breeding initiatives and their impact on transforming plant cultivation. Besides being passionate about my PhD, I like being outside in nature, I like hiking, traveling, dancing, gardening. I love music and reading, I practice Yoga and meditation, and I am curious about the world around me. I would like to live in a shared apartment with open-minded people during this time in Santa Cruz, who would also like to have a coffee or cook together from time to time. I am very flexible and don't have high expectations with regard to the room. I just need a place to sleep, though a room furnished with the basics would be helpful.
