Where to stay on low budget

Hello, we are coming from Lithuania to Slovakia by car. Where would be the best place for wild- camping in Tatranska Lomnica? Near river would be perfect. All camping sites around are reserved, so the best chance would be go somewhere in forest or ect. Any ideas? is here save to wildcamp?

Hi Donatas, wildcamping is illegal in High Tatras, so be careful, you can get fine. Didn't see many doing it recently. Some folks, do bivak (which is also illegal), just to get sunrise pictures. Anyway, if you decide to do it anyway (I don't recommend), be careful and do not leave food in your tent, as we have situation with too many bears in the area. If you decide to go safe way. There is camp http://www.rijocamping.eu/. It it perfect starting location for most hikes. M.

There is also camping in Stará lesná near Tatranska Lomnica you can try if it's free.

Tatiana, you mean probably the rijo camping. It's not free, but prices are reasonable. http://www.rijocamping.eu/

Or you can go little a bit higher and sleep at chata plesnivec? I don't know what is your plán. Check it . :)have a nice a trip

When you have a car, you should go to Spisska Bela and there is a lake when u can camping for free. Its 15 km from Tatranska Lomnica and nature is really beautiful.

Camp "Tatranec" 3km south from Tatranská Lomnica is a big area, check it out, they may have vacancies there again.

There are also few lakes close to Svit - Batizovce. You can also swim there :) If you will bring some wood, you can do a fire... We will be there this evening!!! Probably also sleeping in a tend.. Join us! :D
